3) An Intermediate Player?

You are comfortable at the level you currently play to,

but are struggling to progress further.

Show me the direction you wish to move in and I will lead you there in logical steps.   We will be dealing in the main with things you can already do, and relating them to new things that may feel out of reach, helping to gradually bring them into your comfort zone.

If there are any gaps in the foundations of your playing they can stop progress dead and will need to be addressed. With or without any such problems, progress should be noticeable on almost a daily basis.

The most common problem faced by the intermediate player is lack of understanding of *how* to practise, and is therefore the most important thing you can learn.

Whatever the material you wish to learn and play, we’ll encounter the same issues. Some are purely mental challenges, others purely physical, and most a combination of the mental and the physical.  Strengthening chord vocabulary, chord changes, and rhythmic understanding.  Understanding what it takes to play faster and learning how to implement that understanding.  Better knowledge of the fretboard.  Right hand technique (pick or fingerstyle). etc.

Each of these is an important component of your overall ability as a guitarist, and for each of these, or any other issue you will encounter, there will be a systematic method to gain improvement.  By  being systematic, you will learn how to avoid the common trap of playing lots and hoping that you are improving.  We will dispense with hope, and replace it with expectation and results.

This can save you literally thousands of hours of wasted time!

Learning the guitar is all about taking what seems impossible, getting it to a stage where it feels achievable, and steadily working toward making it feel easy. Anyone can do this, to any level they want, with a combination of desire, commitment, patience and naturally, good instruction.
